Hosted vs MISappliance Approach

The MISappliance approach uses less bandwidth than hosted email because most email traffic stays within the company and the associated traffic doesn't have to leave the building over the Internet. Some customers feel the MISappliance method is more secure because email is stored on-site at the company location, not at a remote hosting facility. The MISappliance approach also provides more management insight to email traffic as log files are kept locally for review if required.

MIS also offers a solution to complement existing third party mail servers such as MS Exchange and Lotus Notes. In this mode the emails are routed through an MISappliance at the customer location. This solution is transparent to the current mail server and no loss of current functionality will occur.
